Habitat ∞ (Habitat Infinity)
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Beyond the bounds of reality are reflections of the real world. Human architecture, concepts, ideas, and dreams resonate in the void beyond the material plane. While some of these echoes are dangerous, most of them are... nothing. Blank, hollow worlds that show no signs of life. Shopping malls with closed stores, office buildings that never found tenants, and towers that go up to nowhere.
Sometimes, people can fall into these places either accidentally or purposefully. It's not hard to get back out, so feel free to stay as long as you like.
Habitat ∞ is a first-person platformer with parkour elements. Run, jump, wall-run, and mantle ledges as you try to reach the top of a procedurally-generated apartment complex. Go at your own pace, or try to speedrun to the top.
Features
- Peaceful gameplay: No enemies, no combat, no hazards, it's just you and the tower.
- Parkour movement: Habitat ∞ features a simple movement system that is easy to pick up but hard to master. A lot of effort was put into making getting around fun regardless of your skill level.
- Speedrunner friendly: Enable the timer in the settings menu and see how fast you can reach the top. The campaign mode features a set of fixed seeds that save your best time, alongside a marathon mode that plays all of them back-to-back.
- Accessibility: Controls can be rebound, the CRT filter can be toggled, and a crosshair can be enabled to help with motion sickness.

I enjoyed this
Absolutely love this. I've been in love with the idea of games that traverse structures like this ever since seeing the Stratocubulus for Mirrors Edge, and you've done such a wonderful job of recreating that. The movement mechanics feel great for traversing these structures, and I'm mad impressed that you accomplished this in a week. Well done!
took a bit but I got sub 1 min on every campaign tower
I checked out the speedrun video you uploaded to youtube and I am completely blown away. Seeing you get sub-10 minutes in this screenshot was surprising enough, but watching you break the sub-9 minute barrier is incredible!
I'm glad you saw it! And thanks for making such a fun game to speedrun, it feels so nice playing it.
Also, I didn't improve the marathon time, but I did get better times on the single levels :>
oh this is a DELIGHTFUL game, I'm really enjoying the feel of it! I've played it for two hours tonight already and am looking forward to finishing up the campaign! You've made speedrunning the game extremely tempting as well!
I use to live in Montreal and love Habitat 67, this wonderful nostalgia, I believe you captured the essence of the structure. I also love the "scurry" mechanic of running up the wall. Only wish there was the option of inverse controls because my brain is hardwired that way! Great job!
Climbing the concrete scaffolds, which seemed to go on endlessly, was a very strange feeling.
It was also fun to learn how to control the controls and to feel how high I could go over the scaffold!
I love the vibes of this game. The controls and momentum feel fun, the odd environment is while simple still rather beautiful, and the more nonsensical landscape just makes for a fun time!
This was cool! Fine movement mechanics and a good bit of depth to wall-jumping.
Cool mechanics, neat vibes. Has a bit of a creepy feel too which I like.
I LOVE WALLJUMPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
